One of the major contributors to Project Phoenix’s success are the analysis and support tools that Jumar use.  The tools all operate by running extracts on Gen models to collect all the pertinent information about the models in a simple structured database.  The tools then present an array of different pre-configured views of the data, alongside the ability to easily write customised queries to answer ad hoc questions.   High level summary reports facilitate well informed project scoping and planning.  The tools also allows users to ‘drill down’ levels of detail or instantly identify anything that creates complexity for a transformation – for example use of OLE functions in procedures that are to be transformed from GUI to a web user interface. 

The analysis tools include specialised add on functionality to support particular objectives, such as creating a component architecture, identification and resolution of performance problems or verifying and correcting the implementation of standards. 

A further support tool built as part of Project Phoenix is the Test Harness Generator, which generates the client procedure step and user interfaces required to test an action block or server procedure.
